Tushar, Imrul shine bright for South Zone

Prime Bank South Zone scored 428 runs losing eight wickets against BCB North Zone, thus taking a 21-run first innings, riding on Tushar Imran and Imrul Kayes’ centuries at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi Tuesday. In the other match, Walton Central Zone posted 352 for the loss of seven wickets against Islami Bank East Zone at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.East Zone v Central ZoneCentral Zone started day three on 40/1, replying to a huge first innings total of 735 from East Zone. Four half-centuries in the middle-order from Sadman Islam Anik (56), Marshall Ayub (65), Raqibul Hasan (85) and Shuvagata Hom (73) took them to 352 after the end of day three’s play. At least two of these set batsmen missed out on hundreds for Central Zone as they lost seven wickets at stumps on day three. East Zone’s Sohag Gazi took five wickets for 111 runs while Enamul Haque Jr bagged two.North Zone v South ZoneSouth Zone started day three on 125/2 with Tushar and Imrul at the crease. Both these batsmen scored hundreds on day three and eventually, South Zone took the first innings lead. Imrul scored 118 off 129 balls with 14 fours and half a dozen sixes. Tushar, the first Bangladeshi to score 10,000 first-class runs, posted yet another hundred, remaining unbeaten on 148 off 294 balls with 16 boundaries.
