
Bangladesh U-17 cricket team displayed a brilliant batting performance during the second day’s play of their first of two three-dayers in Greater Noida Wednesday.
Bangladesh resumed on their overnight score of 63 runs for the loss of two wickets in 14 overs. Opener Prantik Nawroz Nabil’s inspiring innings of 117, including 16 fours and a couple of sixes, took the Tigers to 220 for five in 56.4 overs. Lower-order batsman and skipper Parvez Hossain Emon (58), Amit Hasan (83) and Shahadat Hossain (51) helped the visiting side put on a respectable score of 410 losing nine wickets in 100.5 overs. Bangladesh then declared their innings.
Afghanistan came in to bat in their second innings with six overs of play remaining on the day. Openers Suliman Arabzai (six not out) and Ijaz (four not out) chalked up 11 runs with one more day to go in the contest.
