
The first of two three-dayers between Bangladesh U-17 cricket team and Afghanistan U-17 resulted in a draw in Greater Noida Thursday.
Play resumed with Afghanistan batting on 11 runs for no loss in six overs, trailing Bangladesh by 162. The Tigers made short work of the Afghan openers as both of them fell early in the first session of day three. Seamer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury bagged both the wickets. The Afghan batsmen tried to script a comeback but the Bangladesh bowlers were on top of them, taking wickets at regular intervals.
Afghan batsman Kamran Hotak’s unbeaten innings of 107 saw the side salvage a draw as the day’s play ended with the Afghans posting 210 losing seven wickets in 91 overs. Bangladesh bowlers Mrittunjoy and Mehedi Hasan Ani notched three and two wickets respectively.
