Tushar Imran last season recorded 10,000 first-class runs

Tushar Imran emerged as the only Bangladeshi to twice score a century in each innings of a four-day game while his second century also made him the first Bangladeshi to strike 30 first-class tons. 

Tushar, who last season recorded 10,000 first-class runs, struck unbeaten 100 in the second innings for Khulna against Rajshahi Wednesday. The right-handed batsman made 104 in the first innings.

With Tushar’s century and unbeaten 72 from opener Anamul Haque, Khulna trailed by 160 runs with eight wickets remaining in the second innings at stumps on day three in Rajshahi’s Shaheed Chandu Stadium in their tier 1 game.

The game resumed with Rajshahi on 446 for six and with unbeaten 163 from Jahurul Islam and 155 by opener Mizanur Rahman the side scored 552 to take a massive 34-run first innings lead. 

Right-arm spinner Afif Hossain secured his career-best seven wickets in the innings for Khulna.

Later, following Tushar and Anamul's heroics Khulna posted 182 losing two wickets.

Rangpur v Barisal, Tier 1

Fazle Mahmud and Sohag Gazi made centuries for Barisal  as the side ended on 384/5 at stumps on day three to give a befitting reply to Rangpur’s 502-run innings. 

The day resumed with Barisal on 84 for one and with Fazle’s unbeaten 130 and Gazi’s 128 the side kept their fight. 

Mahmudul Hasan bagged two wickets for Rangpur. 

Earlier, Rangpur had scored big riding on double century from middle-order batsman Ariful Haque.

Chittagong v Dhaka, Tier 2

Chittagong require another 347 runs with seven wickets in hand for a rare win in the National Cricket League at stumps on day three. The port city outfit were batting on 135/3 with Tasamul Haque unbeaten on 33.

Chittagong captain Mominul Haque made a quick fire 62 off 67 to keep his side in the game. 

Earlier in the day, Dhaka resumed their second innings on 176 for no loss and riding on Rony Talukdar’s unbeaten double century and Abdul Mazid’s 132 the side declared innings on 385 for 1 and set 482 run target for opposition. Rony struck an unbeaten 228 off 252 with 18 boundaries and seven over boundaries.

Dhaka Metropolis v Sylhet

Host Sylhet will resume on the final day to save the match but before that they have to avoid the ignominy of an innings defeat. 

Sylhet were imposed the follow on after being dismissed for 215 resuming on 132/6 replying to Dhaka Metro’s 426 in the first innings. 

Sylhet ended the day on 149/4 needing another 62 to force Metro bat again.
