Bangladesh captain Towhid Ridoy was confident ahead of their semi-final clash of the U-19 Asia Cup that will take place at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Thursday. Bangladesh will take on a strong Indian outfit.
“We are not thinking too much. We are in good touch. We are focusing on the next match, rather than thinking too much about the opponent. We will try to perform our best in the semi-final,” Towhid told the media Wednesday.
“Actually there is less difference in the U-19 level. Every team are competitive and kind of in the same level in the U-19 level. So if we can perform according to our potential then we can win [Thursday],” he added.

Although the senior side have been on the wrong side of a result against India in the recent past, Towhid said they can pull off a win against the confident Indians in this version of the Asia Cup.
“We will definitely try our best to win. It’s our home condition. If we can defeat India it will be a big achievement. I don’t think we have any mental block against India. We did mistakes in the match and that’s why we lost. We need to focus on not committing mistakes in the game. We will try to play with less pressure and hopefully we will bring positive result [Thursday],” he said.
In the other semi-final, Afghanistan will play against Sri Lanka at the same venue Friday.
