With this feat, Mushfiqur Rahim, who has held 159 catches and made 42 stumpings so far in his career, has joined a very rare league of the most elite wicket-keepers in the game as he became the 11th member of the 200-plus dismissal club
Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladeshi to make 200 dismissals as a wicket-keeper in ODIs as he reached the milestone Wednesday in the second ODI against Zimbabwe at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chittagong.
Mushfiq, who had 198 dismissals in 193 appearances, grabbed the catch of Zimbabwean skipper Hamilton Masakadza off Saifuddin in the fifth over to take his tally to 199.
He had to wait more than 30 overs for the milestone dismissal, but finally reached there when he caught Sean Williams of Saifuddin in the 38th over.
He made another dismissal in the 46th over, grabbing a Sikandar Raza edge of skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza.
With this feat, Mushfiq, who has held 159 catches and made 42 stumpings so far in his career, has joined a very rare league of the most elite wicket-keepers in the game as he became the 11th member of the 200-plus dismissal club.

Former World Cup-winning wicket-keepers, the West Indies’ Jeffrey Dujon and Sri Lanka’s Romesh Kaluwitharana are in sight of Mushfiq with 204 and 206 dismissals respectively.
Mushfiq, who made his ODI debut back in August 2006 in Harare in the fifth and final ODI against Zimbabwe, did not take the wicket-keeping gloves as erstwhile captain Khaled Mashud was the No 1 wicket-keeper of the country.
He got his chance behind the wickets in his second appearance in ODI, the fourth match of the return series on December 8 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
He caught Chamu Chibhabha in the fifth over of the innings of Mashrafe and later registered his first ODI stumping as he dismissed Brendan Taylor off Abdur Razzak in the 20th over.
Ironically, Mushfiq, one of the finest batsmen Bangladesh have ever produced, could not get into batting in his first two ODIs as the Tigers won both the matches with an identical margin of eight wickets.
Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka tops the list of ODI dismissals with 482 scalps in 404 matches, followed by some of the biggest names like Adam Gilchrist, Mark Boucher and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
