After the third and penultimate day of the fourth round of the National Cricket League, Chittagong, Barisal and Dhaka Metropolis are decently poised to win their games against Dhaka, Rangpur and Sylhet respectively.
In the other match, national discard, Rajshahi batsman Sabbir Rahman ran himself out for 99 against Khulna.
Dhaka v Chittagong
The day started with Chittagong losing their last two wickets for 15 runs and being all out for 238 at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.
In reply, Dhaka crumbled for 151 but posted a target of 202 for the opponent, thanks to their 50-run first-innings lead.
Young off-spinner Nayeem Hasan was once again among the wickets as he took 3/39 after taking 8/106 in the first innings.
Irfan Hossain also took 3/28.
Dhaka started brightly by taking two wickets, that of the openers, for 22 but then Mominul Haque (62) and Tasamul Haque (46) steadied things and once again put Chittagong on the front foot, ending the day on 113/2 with 89 required for victory with eight wickets in hand.
Rajshahi v Khulna
Rajshahi started the day in the rain-hit match at 202/5 with Sabbir and Muktar Ali batting on 16 and nought respectively at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Khulna had previously made 309.
Rajshahi ended the day losing just four wickets scoring 418/9, leading by 109 runs with the second innings of both teams left to play and just one day remaining.

Rangpur v Barisal
Rangpur began the day on 77/3 in their second innings at Cricket Garden in Rangpur in a low-scoring affair.
Rangpur finished their innings on 229 and gave Barishal a target of 230 as both the teams made identical 147 in the first innings.
Barisal ended the day on 71/3 requiring 159 more runs with seven wickets in hand on the last day.
In Rangpur’s innings, Mahmudul Hasan top-scored with 67 while Monir Hossain was the best bowler for Barisal taking 5/24.
Barisal were teetering on 22-3 before Al-Amin (35 not out) and Shamsul Islam put on a 49-run partnership to end the day in a more decent position.
Sylhet v Dhaka Metro
Dhaka Metro lost their final two wickets for 33 runs scoring 300, trailing Sylhet by 12 runs after the first innings at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
In reply, Sylhet were bundled out for 184 with fast bowler Qazi Onik taking 5/37 for Dhaka Metro.
Chasing a gettable 197, Dhaka lost their opener Saykat Ali, who was lbw to a delivery from Ebadat Hossain with the score on 17.
They ended the day on 28/1 requiring further 169 runs to win.
