Two Bangladeshi umpires, Gazi Sohail and Tanvir Ahmed have been added to ICC’s Umpire Panel for the 2018-19 cricketing calendar according to an ICC press release on Saturday.
With the inclusion of Sohail and Tanvir, Bangladesh now have four umpires in the ICC Umpire Panel with Sharfuddoula and Masudur Rahman already a part of it.
Among ICC’s full members, only New Zealand and Afghanistan have three umpires each, in the panel.
Sohail’s first international duty will commence via the second T20I between Bangladesh and West Indies on 20 December where he will be the on-field umpire. He will also be the fourth umpire in the first and third ODI in the West Indies tour of Bangladesh.
