Opening batsman Shadman Islam has been included as the 14th member of the Bangladesh squad for the first of two Test matches against the West Indies.

He has represented Bangladesh A and Bangladesh U-19 teams and finished the just concluded National Cricket League season as the highest run-scorer.
Shadman ended up totalling 648 runs, with two centuries and three fifties, with an average of 64.8.
The 23-year old also struck a half-century in the lone two-day practice game against the West Indians, which finished in a draw in Chittagong’s MA Aziz Stadium Monday.
Openers Soumya Sarkar and Shadman scored 78 and 73 respectively as the BCB XI at stumps on the final day posted 232 losing five wickets in 75 overs.

The visiting side had batted first and declared on 303 for the loss of seven wickets in 86.3 overs in their first innings.
Soumya continued his run of good form as he added 126 with Shadman for the opening stand.
Soumya on 78 got dismissed by left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican.
Shadman went on to display his touch with the bat as he struck 10 fours and a six in his 169-ball innings.
Seamer Shannon Gabriel took two wickets for the visitor, while pacer Kemar Roach and Warrican took one each.
