Right-arm pacer Shahidul Islam picked up his maiden first-class five-for that enabled Walton Central Zone take a lead against BCB North Zone at the end of day two in the second round of the Bangladesh Cricket League Thursday.
Pace bowler Shahidul bagged six for 64 to help Central Zone restrict North Zone for 255.
At stumps on the second day, Central Zone led by 15 runs with seven second wickets in hand.
North Zone resumed batting in the first innings to start the day, but faced a controlled attack from Central Zone.
The side could only add 183 on the day before losing all their wickets to take a 35-run lead in the first innings.
Pacer Abu Haider and left-arm spinner Mosharraf Hossain picked up two wickets apiece for Central Zone while Mizanur Rahman, Naeem Islam and Farhad Hossain added 81, 61 and 54 respectively to the North Zone total.
Later, Central Zone posted 50 for three on the board as opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto remained not out on 22.
