Hope century helps Windies level series

Bangladesh have named an unchanged side while the Windies have made one change, bringing in Chanderpaul Hemraj in place of Kieran Powell

West Indies opener Shai Hope scored his third ODI century to keep the visitors in track to chase 256 against Bangladesh even though wickets fell at the other end. Hope completed his century in 118 balls with seven boundaries and two maximums. The visitors need 50 from 42 deliveries with four wickets in hand.

West Indies 256/6 in 49.4 overs (Hope 146*) beat Bangladesh 255/7 in 50 overs (Mashrafe 6*, Miraz 10*, Shakib 65, Mushfiq 62, Tamim 50) by four wickets.

Mustafiz gets Chase to dent Windies' hopes

Mustafizur Rahman took his second wicket of the match as the pacer had West Indies batsman Roston Chase out for 9 off 18 deliveries to dent the visitors' run chase and make it 185/6 on the last ball of the 39th over. On the other end, Shai Hope was not out on the brink of a fantastic century on 95.    

Rubel removes Hetmyer 

Rubel Hossian took the crucial wicket of in-form Shimron Hetmyer in the last ball of 33rd over. Hetmyer got a life from Rubel’s bowling when Imrul Kayes dropped his catch at short fine leg. Eventually, Hetmyer was out scoring 14 off 10 balls when substitute fielder Nazmul Islam Apu caught him when he top edged a flick to square leg.

Mustafiz breaks Hope-Samuels stand 

Pacer Mustafizur Rahman broke the stand of Shai Hope and Marlon Samuels in last ball of 30th over. These two put together a 52-run partnership for the third wicket before Mustafiz took Samuels’ wicket. The score was 143 for three after 30 overs. 

Hope and Bravo steady Windies chase

West Indies opener Shai Hope and one-down Darren Bravo keep the chase on track as the visitors were on 37-1 chasing 256.

Hope, who struck an off-side six against pacer Mustafizur Rahman,  was on 19 off 30 balls while Bravo was on 13 off 24 as the pair added 32 runs after opener Chanderpaul Hemraj was adjudged leg-before off Mehedi Hasan for three. 

The Windies are now 37/1 after 10 overs.

Miraz removes Hemraj

Off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz removed opener Chanderpaul Hemraj (three) early during the second ODI between Bangladesh and the West Indies at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Tuesday.

The Windies are now 5/1 after 1.2 overs.

Tigers post 255/7 after 50 overs

Bangladesh posted 255 runs losing seven wickets in their stipulated 50 overs during their second ODI against the West Indies .

Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza and Miraz were unbeaten on 6 and 10 respectively.

Bangladesh's Shakib al Hasan plays a shot

Shakib out for 65

All-rounder Shakib al Hasan struck his 40th ODI half-century before being cleaned up by seamer Kemar Roach for a 62-ball 65 in the last ball of the 47th over. Shakib survived the second ball of the 45th over as he was caught at midwicket but pacer Oshane Thomas overstepped. 

Shakib struck six fours and one six. The Tigers are now 239/7 after 47 overs.

Mahmudullah, Soumya and Liton gone in quick succession

All-rounder Mahmudullah (30), middle-order batsman Soumya Sarkar (6) and opener Liton Das (7) were dismissed in quick succession as the Windies look for damage control. 

The Tigers are now 234/6 after 46 overs.

Mushfiq dismissed

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed after scoring an impressive fifty-plus innings. He scored 62 off 80 balls with five boundaries before losing his wicket to Thomas. 

Mushfiq had earlier formed a 111-run partnership with opener Tamim Iqbal for the third wicket. The Tigers are now 132/3 after 26.4 overs.

Tamim departs

Tamim scored a half-century off 61 balls and got out one delivery later. He tried a slog sweep against leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo in 23.3 overs only to get caught by deep square leg fielder Roach. 

Tamim scored 50 off 63 balls and struck four fours and one six in his innings. The Tigers are now 125/2 after 23.3 overs.

Imrul goes early

Bangladesh lost their first wicket early in the third ball of the fourth over when opener Imrul Kayes got out scoring 0 off 6 deliveries. He was caught behind the wicket against Thomas. 

Imrul came out to bat after Liton was injured and carried away by a stretcher. Bangladesh are now 14/1 after 3.3 overs.

Liton limps off 

Bangladesh started their innings with Tamim and Liton. In the third ball of the second over, Liton was injured as a yorker length delivery from Thomas hit the left ankle of Liton. The two batsmen completed a run but Liton was in pain immediately after the ball hit his leg. 

Later, he was carried away by a stretcher and Imrul came out to bat. And so an early setback for the Tigers after just 1.3 overs.

Windies win toss, elect to bowl first

The West Indies' stand-in captain Rovman Powell has won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Tigers lead the series 1-0 after winning the first match by five wickets at the same venue Sunday.

Bangladesh have named an unchanged side while the Windies have made one change, bringing in Hemraj in place of batsman Kieran Powell.
