South Zone are in a strong position to win the game against Central Zone thanks to the all-round efforts of Mahedi Hasan where he scored 46 runs and then took 3/44 in the third day of their Bangladesh Cricket League’s round four match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong.
The day started with South Zone in a solid position at 309/5 with a first innings lead, but Central Zone fought back to take the remaining five wickets for just 88 runs. Raqibul Hasan was the first batsman to go after scoring 65 and the team total at 325/6.
Mahedi held up one end as wickets fell at the other with Nahidul Islam (6), Abdur Razzak (19) and Kamrul Islam Rabbi (0), all losing their wickets and the score was 376/9 at that point. Mahedi was the last to be dismissed with the team’s score at 397. Arafat Sunny was the pick for the Central Zone bowlers as he took 4/122.

The last and fifth Central Zone batsman do be dismissed was Taibur Rahman for 33 as the day ended with the score at 180/5 and a lead of 44 runs.
