Tamim, Soumya fiftes give Tigers series win

Tamim Iqbal scored 81 not out off 104 deliveries and guided the Bangladesh chase to win the match by eight wickets

Tamim Iqbal was joined by the experienced and dependable Mushfiqur Rahim as they score the remaining runs to reach the 199-run target set by the Windies to win the match by eight wickets with 69 deliveries remaining and win the ODI series 2-1. 

The left handed opener remained not out on 81 off 104 deliveries as Mushfiqur scored 16 off 14 balls. 

Tamim hit back-to-back boundaries on the second and third balls of the 39th over by Windies captain Rovman Powell to take Bangladesh to 202/2, past the 199-run target.

Soumya departs but Bangladesh close in on win

Soumya Sarkar departed for 80 runs off as many deliveries after being bowled by a fast and full Keemo Paul delivery with the score at 176 after 35.2 overs, chasing 199. 

Soumya, who started to dominate the Windies bowling played one shot too many as he tried to swipe across the line of the ball, completely missing it, only to see his off stump go cartwheeling after being struck by the ball.

The wicket ended a 131-run partnership with Tamim Iqbal staying steady, not out on 71 runs off 99 balls.

Soumya accelerates as Bangladesh near total

Soumya Sarkar accelerated to 80 runs off 79 deliveries as he scored 14 runs off Devendra Bishoo's over, the 34th over of the second innings, with two fours and a six as Bangladesh reached 176/1 after 35 overs, chasing 199.

In the other end Tamim Iqbal was steady at 71 from 99 deliveries.

Bangladesh gain control of chase

Bangladesh gained control of the run chase as Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar continued to score freely and reach 135 runs after 30 overs, chasing 199 runs.

Tamim has so far scored 61 runs off 87 deliveries and hardly been troubled by the Windies bowlers.

In the other end, Soumya is nearing his fifty and scored 49 off 61 deliveries and has started to play some big shots.

Tamim reaches 26th ODI 50

Tamim Iqbal reached his 26th ODI 50 as Bangladesh kept the run chase under control as the hosts reached 120/1 after 25 overs, chasing 199 set by the Windies.

Soumya Sarkar accelerated at the other end and hit two powerful sixes to take his score to 42 off 50 deliveries. 

Tamim too batted freely scoring 53 off  and reached his 50 with a sweep to hit a boundary through the backward square-leg region off the bowling of Devendra Bishoo.

Tamim, Soumya have 50 partnership

Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar formed a 51-run second wicket partnership to power Bangladesh towards the 199-run target at 96/1 after 20 overs. 

Soumya started to take control of the Windies bowlers while Tamim held his end and scored at ease.

Soumya has so far scored 29 off 37 balls while Tamim has scored 42 off 51 deliveries.

Tamim keeps Bangladesh chase under control

Tamim Iqbal kept Bangladesh's 199-run chase under control as the hosts reached 68/1 after 15 overs.

The left-handed opener scored 30 runs off 39 deliveries and played some delightful drives and cuts, especially against the Windies spinner Roston Chase. 

At the other end, Soumya Sarkar joined him and got going immediately with 15 off 18 deliveries with two boundaries in his innings so far.

Liton falls after solid start

Liton Das became the first batsman to lose his wicket in the first ball of the eleventh over against when he swiped early at a length delivery from Keemo Paul and sent it to mid-on for an easy catch to Windies captain Rovman Powell. 

Liton once again gave his wicket away after making a good start scoring 23 runs and forming a good 45-run opening partnership with Tamim Iqbal.

Tigers make solid start to chase 

Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das made a solid start scoring 45/0 after ten overs in reply to West Indies' 199-run target. 

Liton played a few delightful boundaries through covers while Tamim too had his share with a back-foot cut, which sent the ball to the backward point region boundary.

The pick of the boundaries came in the ninth over when Liton played a straight drive against the bowling of Keemo Paul half volley.

Ton-up Hope takes WI to 198/9

Hope struck back to back centuries, and remained unbeaten on 108 as the Windies posted 198 runs losing nine wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.

Hope was not out on 108 while No 11 batsman Devendra Bishoo was undefeated on six.

Hope now has highest runs - 297 - in a three-ODI bilateral series in Bangladesh, surpassing Australian Shane Watson's 294 in 2011.

Bangladesh win toss, elect to bowl

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza has won the toss and decided to bowl first in their third and final ODI against the West Indies at Sylhet International Stadium Friday. The series is locked at 1-1.

There were two changes for the Tigers with top-order batsman Mohammad Mithun and all-rounder Saifuddin replacing opener Imrul Kayes and seamer Rubel Hossain respectively. The Windies on the other hand made one change, left-arm bowler Fabian Allen replacing seamer Oshane Thomas.

The Sylhet Stadium will be hosting its first ever ODI, thus becoming the 200th ODI venue overall.

Mashrafe is featuring in his 200th ODI for the Tigers, and record 70th as captain, one ahead of former skipper Habibul Bashar.
