A total of 29 runs came in that over where, off the two wrong no-ball calls, the Bangladesh batsmen scored seven and off the two free hits, they smashed 12
Umpiring hit a low in the series-decider as two wrong no-ball calls made way for controversy during the Bangladesh innings. Both the incidents happened in the fourth over, bowled by pacer Oshane Thomas.
Umpire Tanvir Ahmed called the first no-ball in the fifth ball when Liton Das hit a boundary. The replay showed that the bowler’s foot was well behind the line.
In the free hit off the next delivery, Liton smashed a sixer. But in the last ball of the over, Tanvir once again called no-ball and Liton, who was on 33 off 13 at that time, was caught at mid-off after attempting a big heave.
The TV replay showed that Thomas bowled a legal delivery as his foot was again, well behind the line. After watching the replay on the big screen, the West Indies players got excited and skipper Carlos Brathwaite urged the umpire to review the decision.
The West Indies opener Evin Lewis played a destructive innings of 89 runs off just 36 balls against the Tigers in the third and final match of the T20I series in Mirpur Saturday.https://t.co/8FHh61e5wF#WESTINDIES #WEST #INDIES #EVIN #LEWIS #EVINLEWIS #WINDIES #CWI #BCBTIGERS

But the on-field umpire refused to forward the call and eventually, play was stopped for about eight minutes over the controversy. Brathwaite went to the boundary line where he had a long discussion with the reserve umpire and match referee Jeff Crowe.
The West Indies bowling consultant Mushtaq Ahmed and Bangladesh captain Shakib al Hasan also joined in the discussion. Later, the on-field umpire’s decision stayed and the Windies players went back to action.
Interestingly, the no-ball decision stayed and off the free-hit, Soumya Sarkar smashed a six to add to the woes of the West Indies camp. A total of 29 runs came in that over where, off the two wrong no-ball calls, the Bangladesh batsmen scored seven and off the two free hits, they smashed 12.
Liton, who survived the controversial no-ball call, eventually got out in the 10th over after scoring 43 off 25 balls. Bangladesh were all out for 140 and the controversial calls by Tanvir created some uncalled for incidents.
