Moody warns Gayle in run-scoring mood

Big-hitting West Indian Chris Gayle has not been among the runs so far in the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League but his Rangpur Riders coach Tom Moody has warned that a big innings is on the way.

The 39-year old has a formidable T20 record where he has scored 12,134 runs at an average of 39.52 and a strike rate of 147.92. 

What’s even more impressive is he has scored 21 centuries in the shortest format of the game.

However, this season his BPL scores have been one, eight, 23 and seven in the four games he’s played. 

With Rangpur notching just two wins in six games, the defending champion will be desperate to have Gayle on song.

“I’m sure Chris is frustrated. Chris has got a record in T20 cricket that no one’s close to. He is also a very proud man and we know that a player of his quality is going to shine at any given moment. Once Chris comes to the party with the bat, I feel for the side that’s gonna be in his way,” warned Moody after the practice session at Sylhet District stadium Thursday.
