Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited continued their unbeaten run in the Dhaka Premier League as they beat Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club by one wicket in a thriller at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Friday.
Both the sides got full six points from their first two games and Mohammedan captain Farhad Reza elected to invite the opponent to bat after winning the toss.
Doleshwar’s top-order got off to a poor start as both their openers got out for single digit, and they were reduced to 65/4 in the 21st over.
But Taibur Rahman and Marshall Ayub resurrected the innings with a 117-run stand before the latter was dismissed for 68 in the 44th over.
Taibur, who remained not out on 72, continued the onslaught and with the help of the tail-enders, he helped Doleshwar post a respectable score of 248/8 at the end of 50 overs.

In reply, Mohammedan’s top-order batsmen showed the same lacklustre performance like their counterpart and were struggling on 51/4 in 13.4 overs.
Nadif Chowdhury and Irfan Sukkur scored 30 each, yet their side were in dire straits on 125/7 in the 31st over.
But Sohag Gazi arose from the ruins and with the help of Alauddin Babu, who made 38, built a 77-run stand to keep the chase.
Man-of-the-match Sohag however, was adjudged leg before in the second ball of the 49th over after making a valiant 51-ball 70 and left the last pair to score four more runs.
Saqlain Sajib and Shafiul Islam survived the next nine balls and when they needed two off the final ball, the latter struck a boundary to navigate his side home in a pulsating game.
