Rupganj outclass Doleshwar

Legends Rupganj clinched their sixth win in seven attempts, and joined Abahani Limited at the top of the points table

Legends of Rupganj registered their sixth win of the season, defeating Prime Doleshwar Cricket Club by 72 runs at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Friday.

Rupganj clinched their sixth win in seven attempts, and joined Abahani at the top of the points table.

Batting first, Rupganj put on 265 losing nine wickets. 

No 3 batsman Shahriar Nafees was the top-scorer with 68 off 108 deliveries. 

The experienced left-hander struck four fours and a six. 

Pakistani batsman Akbar-ur-Rehman scored 67 in the middle-order. 

Captain Naeem Islam played a vital 43-run innings to take his team past the 250-run mark and in the end, Rupganj posted a challenging score. 

Farhad Reza took four wickets for Doleshwar, conceding 52 runs.

In reply, Doleshwar folded for 193 in 46 overs. 

Pakistani recruit Saad Nasim scored 61 off 62 balls, while opener Imran Uzzaman made 37.

Rupganj pacer Mohammad Shahid was brilliant with the ball as he took four wickets giving away just 23 runs, including two maidens, in his nine overs and was later adjudged man of the match.

Doleshwar 193 in 46 overs (Saad 61, Shahid 4/23) lost to Rupganj 265/9 (Shahriar 68, Farhad 4/52) by 72 runs
