Farhad Reza hits quickest List A fifty

Farhad slammed one over boundary and two boundaries in the 20th over as Prime Doleshwar were sent to bat first in a curtailed 26-over-per-side match

Prime Doleswar all-rounder Farhad Reza registered the quickest half century in the Dhaka Premier League on Monday. The right-handed middle-order batsman struck a fifty off just 18 balls against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Nazmul Hossain Milon held the previous record of reaching the milestone facing 19 deliveries. Milon achieved that feat for Dhaka Division against Khulna Division during National Cricket League one-day tournament in April, 2007.

Farhad slammed one over boundary and two boundaries in the 20th over as Prime Doleshwar were sent to bat first in a curtailed 26-over-per-side match. The Doleshwar captain then struck two more sixes and a four in 23rdover which got 27 runs for the side.

The 32-year old right hander continued with the aggression as he blasted three consecutive over boundaries in 25th over off left-arm spinner Taijul Islam .Bangladesh national team bowler Taijul however had Farhad removed in the last ball of the over but by that time the batsman amassed 56 off just 20 deliveries with three boundaries and six over boundaries.
