Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed will return to competitive action for Legends of Rupganj in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Taskin, having just recovered from an ankle injury is likely to play Rupganj’s last league phase game of the season against Uttara Sporting Club at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Wednesday.
Taskin picked up the injury towards the end of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 2019 in February.
He was in scintillating form in the sixth edition of the BPL with 22 wickets in 12 group stage games.
The injury denied the pacer from making a comeback into the national team during the tour of New Zealand in February-March.

With the national selection panel working on the Bangladesh squad for the World Cup 2019, Taskin ensured of getting some match action and create the chance of him making it to the side for the world event.
“Rupganj are in a good run now (being at the top of the points table). I had discussions with a few clubs and have eventually decided to play for Rupganj. The other teams were looking to play me from the Super League but Rupganj want me to play from their next match (Wednesday). I have just come back from injury so there were teams who were thinking if I should play immediately or give it some more time,” said Taskin to the media in Mirpur Tuesday.
In the other two matches of the day, championship contender Abahani Limited will face Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited at BKSP Ground 4 while in Fatullah’s Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, No 4 in the standing, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club will take on Brothers Union.
With six matches remaining in the season, including five in the Super League, Abahani will look to gear up from hereonin and utilize their bench strength.
The Sky Blues in 10 matches have secured eight wins boosted with the presence of national cricketers.

Sheikh Jamal have five wins in the season so far and will be desperate for a win to climb up the table and make it to the first six before the Super League phase.
Facing Brothers in the last game of the first phase comes as an opportunity for Doleshwar to move to the Super League with another win added to the bucket.
Brothers, who have been controversial this season, are at No 11 in the table.
A win will move them up to No 10 but will not stop them from avoiding contesting the Relegation League, played between the last three teams of the league table.
