Bangladesh right-arm pacer Jahanara Alam is all set to appear in the 2019 Women’s T20 Challenge.
Jahanara will play for Team Velocity in the three-side tournament organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Former Bangladesh women’s team coach Mamatha Maben will coach Jahanara’s team in the six-day long tournament.
BCCI as part of its ongoing commitment to growing the women’s game will host the tournament from May 6-11 in Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
This is the second year in a row that the BCCI has decided to conduct women's matches during the Indian Premier League playoffs, and this season the format will be a single round-robin, rounded off with a final.
The first season featured only two teams, Supernovas and Trailblazers.
Velocity have been introduced as the third team in the competition this year.
