The India camp is facing an injury blow as Vijay Shankar has been ruled out with a toe injury sustained during a training session. Earlier, India opener Shikhar Dhawan was also ruled out due to a broken finger
India’s unbeaten run in the World Cup ended on Sunday as they lost to hosts England by 31 runs at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
A slow start at the top and loss of regular wickets in the middle order caused India to fail the run chase. India’s assistant coach Sanjay Bangar informed that their team is targeting to improve in that area against Bangladesh.
“We've got some good performances, and we just need to build up a few more partnerships because we just had one big partnership and the second one wasn't really that big. So maybe, we could look at having a better partnership in the middle overs and from the middle order against Bangladesh,” said Bangar.

“Every opponent is going to be different. It's a fresh game against Bangladesh. It's going to be on the same track, so we have a bit of an idea of how the track will behave and how the dimensions of the ground are. We were a bit surprised because they probably played 59 metres to one side, which is the least permissible size. But it will be the same for both sides so we'll try and maximize them,” he added.
The India camp is facing an injury blow as Vijay Shankar has been ruled out with a toe injury sustained during a training session. India have called on the services of twenty eight year old Mayank Agarwal to replace Shankar.
Earlier, India opener Shikhar Dhawan was also ruled out due to a broken finger.
