Bangladesh top-order batsman Mominul Haque believes the upcoming Test match against Afghanistan next month will be a good chance for the Tigers to prepare themselves before the India series.
Mominul though also admitted that it will be good competition as the Afghans have a quality spin attack.
“It’s good preparation for us before the Test Championship. It’s a good opportunity for us, and it will be a competitive game. Afghanistan have a very good spin attack. This Test will be a good test for us before the India series,” said Mominul to the media Thursday.
Mominul is currently taking part in the 35-member fitness and conditioning camp for the Tigers at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, and preparing hard for the lone Afghanistan Test.

Mominul is a regular fixture in the Test set-up for Bangladesh and the last Test they played was back in March in New Zealand.
Mominul said not playing frequently is not a problem for him now, and he expressed delight about the Test Championship, which has started recently.
In the next few years, Bangladesh will play more Tests frequently compared to the previous years.

“I need to be strong both mentally and physically. I don’t think playing Tests often will be a problem for me now. I am getting used to it a little bit. I have played a few three-, four-day matches against India a few days ago. If you consider it tough then it will be tough, otherwise it will be easy,” said Mominul.
“I believe the Test Championship is good for Bangladesh cricket. Personally I am happy. Because Test cricket will be on focus more from now on. If we play more matches then our opportunity to perform will be increased, and also, we can go further up in the ranking. So in that sense, Test Championship is a good chance for us,” Mominul concluded.
