the two-week long quarantine of the tourists will come to an end on Wednesday and the team is set to travel to Queenstown for a five-day camp
All members of Bangladesh national cricket team in New Zealand have been tested negative in the fourth and the final Covid-19 test on Tuesday. As a result, the two-week long quarantine of the tourists will come to an end on Wednesday and the team is set to travel to Queenstown for a five-day camp.
Team leader and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Jalal Younus informed the media the team had their last group practice sessions on Tuesday. The team will be allowed to move as a unit from Wednesday.
Having completed the quarantine without any hiccup hosts New Zealand will not have any restrictions on Bangladesh team members. However, Jalal informed as part of extra precaution BCB has decided to set its own Covid-19 guidelines.
“It is good that we have been able to finish the quarantine on a good note. All members have tested negative. We must credit the effort that has been put by all members of the team for being careful and patient during this time,” said Jalal to the media on Tuesday.
“We have another three weeks of stay here (in New Zealand) and we have to be careful. We are free to move but still we will have our own guidelines,” BCB media committee chairman Jalal added.
Bangladesh team will fly to Queenstown form Christchurh on Wednesday evening for the five-day long camp and then travel to Dunedin, the venue for the first of the three-match ODI series. The second and the third ODIs will be played on March 23 and 26 in Christchurch and Wellington respectively.
