Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] will solely bid for hosting ICC Champions Trophy 2025, one of the major events of the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the 2024-2031 cycle.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan following the 10th BCB board meeting informed the media that Bangladesh has the infrastructure required to host the event. The bid for the event has to be submitted soon.
“There are lots of issues [in order to solely host Men’s World Cup]. We will need to have 10 full fledged stadiums. It is the same for whoever is interested to bid for the event. So that is not possible for us because we do not have that many venues. Hosting even the T20 World Cup solely is a challenge for us. But there is Champions Trophy [2025] which is possible for us to host. We have decided to bid to solely host Champions Trophy,” informed BCB boss Nazmul to the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.

Bangladesh is interested to host ICC Cricket World Cup and ICC World T20 but jointly with its ACC neighboring countries.
“It is not possible for us to solely host one-day World Cup or T20I world cup. We will try to host it jointly with our ACC neighbours like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We will speak to the boards because chances of getting the rights to the world cup increases if we bid together. There is a very short time in hand for this. We will have to come to a decision on this within a day or two,” said Nazmul.
