All-rounder Shakib was elected man of the series with third most runs and most wickets in the series
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has been adjudged man of the series in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against hosts Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh registered a clean sweep winning the third and final game of the series at Harare Sports Club on Tuesday by five wickets and bagged all 30 points that were up for grab of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Super League.
Visitors Bangladesh had won the first two games by 155 runs and three wickets respectively.
All-rounder Shakib was elected man of the series with third most runs and most wickets in the series. The left-handed batsman scored 145 runs in three games with an average of 72.50. His unbeaten 96 runs in the second ODI was crucial for Bangladesh to clinch a nervy three wicket victory.
With the ball, the left-arm spinner grabbed eight wickets with a five-for in the first game, again a pivotal performance in Bangladesh getting to a winning start to the series.
“Always feels good to contribute for the team. Winning 3-0 against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe is not easy. The pitch was really good today [Tuesday], and I feel I missed out during batting. In T20Is, we have to be at our best as the game changes in the matter of an over. We will have to take it one game at a time,” said Shakib at the post match presentation at HSC on Tuesday.
“There were many situations when we were tested and I think we have been able to pass those tests well. That way it is good for the team. Like I said there is no limit to improvement, so the aim should be to improve as much possible from here playing the matches ahead. This way we will be able to achieve the ultimate goal,” the star all-rounder added.

Bangladesh will now head to a rescheduled three-match T20I series against hosts Zimbabwe. The series will begin on Thursday at HRS. The second and third game of the series will be played on July 23 and 25 respectively.
