Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by five wickets today to win the three-match T20 series 2-1.
Soumya Sarkar put in an all-round performance to lead Bangladesh to a T20I series win over Zimbabwe as the visitors chased down a target of 194 with five wickets to spare in the third and final match at Harare Sports Club Sunday.
Bangladesh reached their destination, their second best ever chase, with four balls to spare after Soumya struck a 49-ball 68, his best ever T20I score that was laced with nine fours and a six.
Player of the match and series Soumya, who registered his fifth T20 fifty, was involved in two major partnerships - 50 with Shakib al Hasan (25) for the second wicket, and 63 with Mahmudullah (34) for the third.
Young Shamim Hossain (31* off 15) and Afif Hossain (14 off five) later put the finishing touch as Bangladesh sealed the series 2-1 after winning the first game by eight wickets before losing the second by 23 runs.
