Nazmul in the BCB election held Wednesday jointly bagged the most votes – 53 off 57 in Club Category
The newly elected Bangladesh Cricket Board directors have decided to keep Nazmul Hasan as their president.
Nazmul in the BCB election held Wednesday jointly bagged the most votes – 53 off 57 in Club Category - and Thursday, the newly elected directors in a meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium decided to keep him on the helm, informed close sources.
With the newly formed BCB board of directors, Nazmul is set to lead the governing body of cricket in the country for the fourth term in succession.
The decision has come from the directors despite Nazmul emphasizing on change ahead of the election.
“The discussion was very short. The directors called Nazmul bhai to remain as the president and it has already been approved,” said a BCB insider to Dhaka Tribune Thursday.
Nazmul took charge of the BCB for the first time in 2012 after getting nominated by the government.
In the 2013 election, Nazmul got elected as a board director without contest and was then selected as the president by the board.
The scenario was similar in the 2017 election.
This time however, Nazmul contested against 15 councilors in club category and won with flying colors.
