Everton make Martina their latest signing
Everton have continued their busy transfer window activity by signing Cuco Martina on a free transfer from Southampton, the club said on Monday.
The 27-year-old Dutch-born defender, whose contract had expired at the Saints, becomes the club's latest recruit on a three-year deal that reunites him with his former manager Ronald Koeman.
Koeman said he was attracted by Martina's versatility.
Everton have been particularly active in the close season transfer window, with their major signings including Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru, Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney.
They have balanced their budget by selling striker Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for 75m pounds ($97.94m) and letting four other players move on.
Newcastle close in on Murphy
Newcastle United have moved a step closer to signing long-term transfer target Jacob Murphy, after agreeing a fee for the winger with Norwich City, according to British media reports on Monday.
The Magpies have endured a largely frustrating transfer window, with French defender Florian Lejeune and Ghanaian forward Christian Atsu the only arrivals.
But the north-east club now look set to add 22-year-old Murphy to their ranks after agreeing a fee in the region of £12m (17m euros, $19.6m,) with the Championship side.
Newcastle are believed to have had an £8m bid rejected last week for England under-21 international Murphy, who blossomed in the second tier last season, scoring 10 goals in 40 appearances for Norwich in all competitions.
Murphy is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Rafael Benitez's side.
Palace recruit £8m Riedewald from Ajax
Premier League club Crystal Palace have signed Ajax Amsterdam defender Jairo Riedewald for eight million pounds ($10.45m), British and Dutch media reported on Monday.
The move will reunite the 20-year-old with his former manager Frank de Boer, who has taken over at Selhurst Park.
De Boer gave Riedewald his debut as a 17-year-old at Ajax, helping the defender develop and win three Netherlands caps.
The media reports said Riedewald's signing will be officially announced by Palace on Tuesday when he travels to Hong Kong to join his new team mates, who face Liverpool in a Premier League Trophy game on Wednesday.
Riedewald is De Boer's second signing after midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined from Chelsea on a one-year loan deal.
Gouffran leaves Newcastle for Turkey
French midfielder Yoan Gouffran has joined Turkish side Goztepe SK following the expiry of his contract at Newcastle.
Gouffran, 31, made over 140 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 19 goals, after arriving from Bordeaux in 2013.
He scored five times in 30 Championship outings last season as Newcastle won promotion back to the Premier League.
Gouffran's new club are preparing for their first season back in Turkey's top flight since 2003.
