Bangladesh were drawn with Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan in Group A as the draw ceremony of the Saff Women’s Championship 2018 was held in Dhaka Thursday. Group B comprises India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The fifth edition of the tournament will be hosted by Bangladesh from December 17-26.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh were pitted alongside Nepal, Maldives and Pakistan in Group A as the draw ceremony of the Saff U-15 Men’s Championship was also held the same day at BFF House. Group B contains India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will be held in Nepal from October 25 to November 3.
BFF general secretaries Anwarul Haq Helal and Abu Nayeem Shohag, member Mohammad Amirul Islam Babu and Bhutan Football Federation deputy general secretary Mindu Dorji were present among others during the draw ceremony.
Thursday, the Bangladesh girls were also felicitated for their title winning success at the Saff U-15 Women’s Championship last year at home. BFF president Kazi Salahuddin and South Korea Football Association president Mong Gyu Chung were present among others during the felicitation programme. The players received cheques while the tournament’s best player Akhi Khatun pocketed Tk1,00,000.
