The Bangladesh Football Federation announced Monday that it would provide three-year contracts to the selected young talents from the Bangladesh team which clinched the Saff U-15 Championship four days ago.

All the players were also honoured with Tk1 lakh each for their success in Nepal.

The BFF president Kazi Salahuddin met the U-15 players at BFF House Monday afternoon, following which the promise of long-term plans came from the federation’s general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, on behalf of the BFF boss.

On the eve of a total of 23 U-15 booters, along with five coaches, moving to Sylhet BKSP for the residential camp Tuesday, Shohag also informed that Bangladesh will participate in a four-nation tournament in Thailand next month.

The players will be picked through a month-long trial during the camp in Sylhet, before getting the contracts.

“The BFF has a big plan for the U-15 players. A team will be sent to Thailand to take part in a four-nation tournament in December, sponsored by Uefa. The BFF will look after the boys with continuous training under the guidance of the qualified coaches,” said Shohag in front of the young booters.

“Three-year contract will be given after one-month trial programme. So work hard in Sylhet. The deserved ones will be given three-year contracts with monthly salary,” added Shohag.

After that, Salahuddin talked with the champion boys like he did with the youth women’s team during the early stages of their success story.

He urged the young booters to work harder in future.

“You just started learning the A, B, C of football. You have to work thousand times more to become a big name in future,” said Salahuddin.

“We will do our job with regards to the technical aspects, but if you don’t do your own work, all will go in vain. Play and think football from morning to night. Just play football like it’s a religion, then you will be great footballer. Practice, practice, practice, and nothing else,” he added.
