World Cupper Daniel Colindres shone brightly once again as Federation Cup runners-up Bashundhara Kings kicked off their Independence Cup campaign with a dominant 2-0 win over Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in the Group D opener at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Sunday.
Colindres couldn’t get into the scoresheet but the Costa Rican forward exhibited his skills in assisting both of Bashundhara’s goals in the opening half, scored by veteran defender Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and Kyrgyz midfielder Baktiyar Duishobekov.

Moments after his powerful strike from 25 yards hit the woodwork, Colindres’ precise corner was converted brilliantly by Nasir through a glancing header that broke the deadlock in the 18th minute.
Baktiyar scored his first goal in Bangladesh to double the lead in the 38th minute.
Taking advantage of Didarul’s lost possession, Colindres forwarded a pass quickly to Baktiyar and the Kyrgyz midfielder slotted home past the onrushing keeper from the edge of the box.
