Bangladesh national team will face Laos over two legs in round 1 of the preliminary joint qualification for the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023.

The first leg will be held in Laos’ capital Vientiane on June 6, while the second leg is scheduled to be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on June 11.

The men in red and green will go through to the final qualifying round of the World Cup if they can beat Laos in this two-legged battle.

Besides, they will also get the berth to play the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

Keeping the Laos ties in mind, the BFF has organized two friendly matches against two Thai Premier League Clubs at their backyard ahead of the pre-qualifiers.

Bangladesh will leave Dhaka for Thailand on May 24 with the games scheduled to be held on May 28 and June 1.

On May 28, Bangladesh will take on Air Force United FC before locking horns with BG Pathum United FC on June 1.

Bangladesh contested their last international match against Cambodia on March 9 when they defeated their east Asian opponent 1-0.

After that, most of the national team players visited Bahrain to take part in the qualifying round of the AFC U-23 tournament and played some quality football there.

They even won the final group phase game against Sri Lanka 2-0.

However, the youngsters lost two other matches by the smallest of margins, against Palestine and host Bahrain, who are both ahead of Bangladesh in the Fifa ranking.
