Saif Sporting Club started the second round of the Bangladesh Premier League with an impressive performance, beating Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 2-1 Friday.
With this victory, they sit in fourth place in the league with 26 points from 13 games, having won eight of their matches.
At Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Saif Sporting controlled the match from the very beginning and scored twice within the first 15 minutes.
Colombian defender Deiner Cordoba scored a header from Yeasin Arafat’s corner in the 12th minute.
Two minutes later, midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan doubled the lead with a spectacular long distance shot.

Conceding two goals, Rahmatganj increased their tempo in the second half.
Eventually they scored in the 55th minute, when Gambian Landing Darboe’s powerful shot took a deflection of midfielder Enamul Islam before going in.
Rahmatganj had two more chances in the remaining minutes, but without success.
They hit the cross bar twice in the 61st and 85th minute.
In the end, they had to leave the pitch with a loss.
