The fixtures of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup have been changed again as the organizers decided to hold the two semi-finals on separate days at 7pm in the evening in order to attract more crowd at the venue - MA Aziz Stadium - in the port city.
Both the semis were earlier scheduled to be held Monday but with the rescheduled fixtures, the first semi-final between Chittagong Abahani Limited and Sree Gokulam Kerela FC will be held Monday while the second last-four clash between Terengganu FC of Malaysia and Kolkata’s I-League outfit Mohun Bagan will take place Tuesday.
Ctg Abahani will face their toughest challenge so far in their bid to win the Sheikh Kamal Club Cup again after four years when they take on I-League favorites Sree Gokulam Kerala FC in the first semi-final at MA Aziz Stadium in the port city at 7pm.https://t.co/uEfpD29Khl#BFFOctober 27, 2019
The fixtures were initially announced on October 15 but after Abahani Limited withdrew their participation due to lack of preparation, the BFF invited Gokulam on short notice, and the fixtures were reshuffled five days later as the latter arrived in the port city the following day.
“We talked to the clubs, and also took permission from the AFC. And after taking their consent from the respective stakeholders, we decided to hold the two semi-finals on two separate days so that more crowd can enjoy both the games,” said the tournament’s chief coordinator Tarafder Ruhul Amin Sunday.
The final was also deferred by a day and will now be held Thursday at 6pm.
