The fixtures were initially announced on October 15 but after Abahani Limited withdrew their participation due to lack of preparation, the BFF invited Gokulam on short notice, and the fixtures were reshuffled five days later as the latter arrived in the port city the following day.
“We talked to the clubs, and also took permission from the AFC. And after taking their consent from the respective stakeholders, we decided to hold the two semi-finals on two separate days so that more crowd can enjoy both the games,” said the tournament’s chief coordinator Tarafder Ruhul Amin Sunday.
The final was also deferred by a day and will now be held Thursday at 6pm.
