Abahani Limited trio Raihan Hasan, Sohel Rana and Md Sohel Rana are unlikely to play the remaining Federation Cup fixtures, after a High Court bench imposed injunctions against them playing for any clubs under the BFF until further notice.

Sheikh Russel KC had filed an appeal after their claim that the players took their money before joining different clubs was rejected by a District Judge Court.

The injunction order was passed on December 18, the same day Abahani began the Federation Cup campaign with a 4-0 win over Police FC, fielding all three of the players.

“Our fight is not against any club but against the players, who took money from us but signed for another club. We had to go to the court to give those players a lesson,” Sheikh Russel Director of Sports Saleh Jamal Selim said Sunday.

Abahani Manager Satyajit Das Rupu said: “We have received a copy of the injunction from the BFF. We have informed our high authority about the matter and they will take the decision. They played the first match after getting clearance from the BFF player status committee.”

Abahani have to play Arambagh KS without the three players in their last Group A match on Thursday, but Rupu said he believes the squad have enough depth to cover the gap.
