Rahmatganj MFS, the runners-up of the Federation Cup, clinched their first win in the Bangladesh Premier League after beating Uttar Baridhara 3-1 in their fifth match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Sunday.

Gambian forward Momodou Bah netted a brace and Tajikistan defender Acpopob Asrorov added the other to help the Old Dhaka outfit reach four points after losing three and drawing one in previous encounters.

Momodou tapped home from close range following a cross by Mahmudul Hasan Kiron to open the scoring in the 23rd minute, before heading in an Acpopob free kick to double the lead in the 36th minute.

Other Gambian forward Landing Darboe lobbed over the keeper to pull one back for new-promoted Baridhara three minutes later, but a spectacular Acpopob free-kick from 25 yards sent Rahmatganj into the break with a 3-1 lead.

The loss means Baridhara drop into the relegation zone (12th) with only a single point from four matches. Baridhara head coach Alfaz Ahmed blamed the absence of two foreign players for the defeat, as Ivorian defender Sangare Issouf was ruled out with injury while Brazilian striker Leonardo Lima is yet to arrive in Bangladesh.
