Bangladesh national football team coach Jamie Day has added more weight on his coaching CV as the British tactician has completed Uefa pro course.
In late 2018, Fifa announced that from 2019 to be eligible to manage a national side a coach must have the completion certificate of the Uefa pro course but the former Arsenal youth player Day did not have it and he joined the course.
However, like Day, many international coaches did not have the certificate as well and Fifa relaxed their requirement till 2021. Day utilized the opportunity and completed the high-level course last week.
The coach seemed ecstatic when he communicated with media from his London residence.
“I am pleased to complete it. I started in 2018 and has took 2 years to compete and very pleased to have achieved the highest qualifications in football been a challenging course but really enjoyed it,” said Day.
The coach further informed that he had to continue the course online due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation and appeared in the last test of it last week through zoom,
The 40-year old coach believed the achievement will not only fulfill the requirement of Fifa but from now on he will be more focused with his job and he has already planning for future challenges of his side.

Bangladesh team’s next mission is the four postponed matches of World Cup qualifier and Day is targeting some good football from his disciples.
“The world cup games we are looking forward to they are very tough games and disappointed there be no supporters at the home games which would have helped us.
“But we will do our best to try and get some points. I believe the most points Bangladesh has ever got in group stage is 1 so will be looking to beat that,” said the British.
Jamie Day joined as Bangladesh coach on 17th May, 2018 and under his tutelage the side showed visible improvements.
During his helm the men in red and green have won eight matches out of 19 and qualified for the group phase of World Cup qualifier. Against the stronger opponents Day’s men failed to win but showed resistance and grit that brought them a point against a stronger Indian side in front of around hundred thousand spectators in Eden Garden but most significantly their stamina seemed to be raised to a higher level under the coach.
Bangladesh Football Federation has extended their contact with Day recently for two more years and the coach, who is expected to return to Bangladesh in August, will look forward to improve his side’s record
