Bangladesh Men’s National Football Team interim coach Oscar Bruzon said he is a warrior not a magician as he is upbeat about Bangladesh’s prospects in the forthcoming SAFF Champions but cannot guarantee a drastic change in success.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) gave a leave to its head coach and handed over the national side for the tournament to Bruzon, he faced the journalists during an official press conference on Wednesday.

Bangladesh will start their campaign in the five-nation tournament from October 1.

“I know the reality. I will try my best with the current set of players but I cannot change everything in a week. I am a warrior, not a magician,” said Bruzon during the presser at the BFF building.

Burzon , who is also the coach of Bashundhara Kings, the most successful local club in last few seasons, called upon as many as 10 players from his own club in the 26-man primary squad.

“The best players of BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) are part of this squad. I formed the team with them who often win.”

Bruzon claimed his main job will be to sow the confident that he brought to his players in the club level. The 44-year old coach believed the self belief will be the key for players to get positive result.

BFF management has been eying to play in the final of the tournament but the coach was pragmatic about his goal.

“We are second bottom team as per FIFA ranking in the tournament. But we have the chances to do well. I have, however, not much time to work on fitness. I will work on technical and tactical aspects. I will deploy 4-3-3 and 4-4-2, the boys must acclimatize with the system quickly,” said Bruzon.

The coach also said his main target will be two higher ranked side- the hosts and defending champions Maldives and Nepal- as he believed a win against bottom ranked Sri Lanka and good result with those aforementioned team will ensure them fulfilling the target.
