Bangladesh concluded their Asian Games Hockey Qualifiers campaign as the runners-up following their 2-0 final defeat to host Oman.
Al Fazari Rashed and Rajab Boshim Khatar scored to take Oman to the final round of the Asian Games, along with Bangladesh.
Oman avenged their loss against Bangladesh in the qualifying round of the previous Asian Games Qualifiers where the latter emerged victorious 6-1.
The men in red and green got numerous opportunities to break the deadlock but a lack of finishing touch meant Bangladesh had to be content with runners-up spot.
Although Bangladesh head coach Mahbub Harun had targeted the trophy, he expressed satisfaction with the performance of his charges. He said they are ready to continue their performance in the main round.
Prior to the final, Bangladesh scored a total of 38 goals in the tournament - five each against Hong Kong and Thailand, a whopping 25 against Afghanistan and three against Sri Lanka in the semi-final.
