Powerhouse Abahani Limited maintained their winning streak in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League as they defeated Ajax Sporting Club 5-1 at Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in Dhaka Monday. Ashraful Islam netted a treble, scoring from penalty corners in the 27th and 57th minute. His other goal came from a penalty stroke in the 23rd minute.
Krishna Kumar bagged a brace, scoring field goals in the 31st and 67th minute, to complete the rout. Harmandeep Singh grabbed the consolation field goal for Ajax in the 45th minute. In Tuesday’s match at the same venue, crowdpuller Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will take on Wari Club at 6:30pm.
