Mariner thrash Abahani

Holder Mariner Youngs Club thumped reigning runners-up side Abahani Limited 5-1 in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League at Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in Dhaka Tuesday.

Mainul Islam Kaushik bagged a brace for the defending champion while Mohammad Julhairi, Pushkor Khisa Mimo and Naim Uddin scored one apiece.

Baljeet Singh betted the consolation goal for the Sky Blues.

In the other match of the day at the same venue, Bangladesh Sporting Club put nine past Police Hockey Club.

Sajeeb Hossain was the star of the show with four goals while Gurjeet Singh notched a brace. Robindor Singh, Joginder Singh and Rubel Hossain scored one each for the winning side while Jamil bin Talib netted the consolation goal for the losing side.

Sonali Bank put 13 past Wanderers

Earlier Monday, Sonali Bank thrashed Wanderers 13-1.

Rajib Das led the way with five goals while Deen Islam Emon bagged four. Prosenjit Ray grabbed a treble while Fazle Hossain scored once for the winning side.

Proshanto Ray netted the consolation goal for the losing side.

In the other game of the day at the same venue, Wari Club edged Sadharan Bima 4-3.

Sameer Ray notched a brace while Mukitul Islam and and Avay Ekka scored one apiece for Wari.

Abdullah al Mansur, Jahid bin Talib and Joga Singh netted one each for Sadharan Bima.

In the process, Mariner, Abahani, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Sonali Bank and Ajax Sporting Club sealed their places in the Super League.
