Powerhouse South Korea defeated Bangladesh 3-2 in a friendly Thursday, ahead of the Asian Games 2018 hockey event. The game was played in four quarters, each comprising 15 minutes.
The first quarter ended goalless before the Koreans went 2-0 ahead in the second quarter. Milon Hossain reduced the arrears in the third quarter before South Korea soon restored their two-goal lead.
Russel Mahmud Jimmy scored a field goal in the fourth and final quarter as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the Koreans. Bangladesh might have lost the match but their head coach Gobinathan Krishnamurthy expressed satisfaction with the performance of his charges.
The Asian Games hockey event will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 19 to September 1. A total of 12 teams will compete in the event.
