The gold-medal winning Bangladesh women's floor hockey team and silver-winning national men's floor hockey side were felicitated at Beautiful Mind School Saturday following their outstanding performance in the Austria Special Olympics Winter World Games 2017.
National Sports Award winner, special athlete Nipa Bose was also accorded a reception during the programme.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation general secretary Abdus Sadek was present as the chief guest.
The ceremony was presided over by Special Olympics Bangladesh chairman Dr Shamim Motin Chowdhury.
Special Olympics Bangladesh founding president Ashraf Dawla was also present during the occasion as an honourary guest.
The ceremony was anchored by Special Olympics Bangladesh national director Farukul Islam.
Each member of the women's and men's teams, along with Nipa, received Tk6,000 as prize money.
