Police, Ansar into National Women’s Softball final

Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party advanced to the grand finale of the first ever Walton National Women’s Softball Competition, sponsored by Walton and organised by Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association. In the first semi-final Friday in Dhanmondi’s Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex field, Bangladesh Police beat BKSP, Sirajganj 25-8. In the second last-four clash at the same venue, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP defeated Dhaka Zila Krira Sangstha 13-3. The final will be held Saturday at 8am. The champion and runners up side will both be awarded with trophies. To add to that, Walton will also provide home appliances to each and every single player of the finalists.

The prize giving ceremony will be held at 11am. Operative director, and chief of sports and welfare division, Walton Group, FM Iqbal bin Anwar Don will distribute the prizes among the finalists as the chief guest. Among others, Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Ashikur Rahman Miku, ATN Bangla advisor (chairman), Col. Mir Motahar Hossain, BBSA president, valiant freedom fighter Mohammad Solaiman, tournament committee chairman and Bangladesh Ansar deputy general director AKM Mizanur Rahman and tournament secretary Azam Ali will also be present. It should be mentioned that the finalists had also contested the first ever National Women’s Baseball Competition last April.
