Day-long Victory Day Gymnastics held

The day-long Victory Day Gymnastics Competition 2017, organised by Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation and sponsored by The Blazer BD, concluded Tuesday at the National Sports Council gymnasium. Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party’s Mohammad Shahidul Islam Saju won gold medal in the parallel bar event. BKSP’s Mohammad Shafiqul Islam claimed gold in the floor event. In the boys’ 10-12 years age group, Jibon Tripura of Quantum Cosmo School and College sealed gold in the floor event. In the boys’ mushroom event, Pru Tripura of Quantum bagged gold. Meanwhile in the women’s balance beam and floor events, BKSP’s Noor Akter Banu clinched gold. In the girls’ 9-11 years age group, Sai Marma of Quantum and Bonfuli Chakma of BKSP notched gold in the floor event. In the volting table event, Sai took home gold. In the girls’ 12-14 years age group, Prenthoi of Bandarban Zila Krira Sangstha netted gold in the parallel bar event. In the floor event, Rajib Chakma of Quantum won gold. In the girls’ 10-14 years age group, Miftahul Jannat Yeama claimed golds in the balance beam and floor event. Following the tournament, BGF president and Bangladesh Olympic Association vice president Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun distributed prizes among the winners. The competition was earlier inaugurated by The Blazer BD managing director and BOA treasurer Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal. Among other guests, BGF vice president, valiant freedom fighter Enamul Haque Chowdhury Khasru and general secretary Mohammad Ahmedur Rahman attended the tournament.
