Bangladesh volleyball team began their 2018 AVC Men’s Challenge Cup campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 sets defeat against Iraq in Colombo’s Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Saturday.
Bangladesh went ahead in the game after winning the opening set by 25-20 points but lost the following two sets by 18-25 and 17-25 points. They staged a comeback in the fourth set, winning it by 25-21 points, before losing the final set by 9-15 points.

Bangladesh, who are placed in Pool B along with the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Mongolia, will face the UAE in their second match Sunday morning. They will also face Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Mauritius after the end of their respective pool matches.
