Update : 18 Apr 2013, 02:09 PM

Share prices at the country’s premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained nominally at close while those at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended negative on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

The DSE benchmark index, DGEN gained 5.59 points or 0.15 percent to reach 3707.48 at close today.

Of the issues traded at the DSE on the day, 155 gained, 97 declined and 23 remained unchanged, as shares worth Tk 202.85 crore changed hands.

IDLC Finance in their daily analysis said, “Flatness reigned in the bourse with swingy tone as week ended amid another mild movement. Political worries continued to put a drag on market sentiment, which still remained downbeat. However, turnover turned back to BDT 2028.54mn, mostly riding on quarterly expectations driven movements.”

Meanwhile, the CSE key index, CSCX shed 10.84 points to stand at 7049.65 at close of trading on Thursday. Of the issues traded, 102 gained, 70 declined and 21 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 24.24 crore were traded at the CSE on the day.
