Zia finishes 19th in India

Grand Master Ziaur Rahman finished 19th in the Elite Category of the 5th Kiit International Chess Festival in Bhubaneswar, India, yesterday. Zia earned 6.5 points out of 10 games. Grand Master Enamul Hossain Razib finished 22nd while FM Sk Nasir Ahmed finished 31st with six points each. FM Debaraj Chatterjee ended in 65th place with points -5.5 points. Abdullah Al-Saif stood 70th with same points. A total of 123 players from 13 countries, including 22 GMs, two women GMs and 23 IMs, participated in the event. Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi grandmaster Niaz Morshed is scheduled to return today after he finished 27th in the Sian Continental Chess Championship in Manila, Philippines.
