The Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday lodged three cases against 91 officials and staff of state-run Padma Oil Company Limited, including its managing director, for breaching rules in recruiting grade four staff.
Mohammad Morshed Alam, a deputy director at ACC’s Chittagong region, filed the cases with Sadarghat police station in the morning.
The plaintiff told the Dhaka Tribune that the accused officials recruited 88 staff of grade four in 2010 for a year under three temporary categories.
But after one year, the company did not publish any advertisement in the national dailies in line with the rules when they were recruited as permanent staff, he added.
Abul Khayer, the managing director, Md Rafiqul Hasan, an assistant general manager (intelligence wing), of Padma Oil and 65 newly-recruited staff were made accused in the first case.
In the second case, Khayer, General Manager (finance) Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Rafiqul and 16 staff were made accused. The third case was filed against the MD, the assistant general manager and seven members of the staff.
