Police yesterday rescued a schoolboy from Comilla who had been kidnapped from Chittagong city’s Uttar Kattali area two days ago.
Police also detained three kidnappers named Mir Altaf, 35, Nurnabi Hossain, 34, and Belal Uddin, 38, from Comilla while the leader of the racket Shahid fled, said police.
Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah police station, said the six-year-old boy, Meheraj Hasan, was kidnapped by the four kidnappers on his way to home from his school on Monday.
Later, he was taken to Chouddagram of Comilla and the kidnappers demanded Tk500, 000 as ransom, he added.
On Tuesday, father of the victim lodged a case. Following that, police traced the mobile phone location of the kidnapper Altaf and arrested the kidnappers, said the OC.
